Excitation Control Panel (EXCP)

Description:

Excitation control panel is a closed loop system which matches the generator demand with the capability of the Diesel Engine. The systems works on the output of the traction generator, and is used in WDM2 & WDG Loco's to control the speed of the Loco by monitoring voltage & currents of the excitation system.

Salient Features:

  • Maintains the proper load on the generator to avoid load fluctuations
  • Limits the voltage and currents of the excitation system
  • EXCP consists of 7 electronic cards which can be plugged in and out of rack.

LED Marker

Description:

LED Marker is a safety indicator device used in WDM & WDG locos. This system enables Red LED light indication to attract the attention of opposite Loco driver ( & nearby personnel) during occupancy of track or road width in case of halting of the train. The system glows with White LED Light when the train is running. The system is especially useful during night time train operation.

Salient Features:

  • Provides the attention on occupancy of the track or road
  • Provides the White LED lamp indication when train is running
  • Provide the Red LED lamp indication when train is halted
  • Visible at a distance of 1KM in daylight
  • Visible at a distance of 3KM in night

Intelligent Low Idling Equipment for E-Type diesel Electric Locomotives

Description:

Intelligent Low Idle equipment is Micro Controller based system. It is used in WDM & WDG Loco's to save the diesel consumption which in turn saves money to Railways when Loco is running in idle condition for more than predefined time. The system achieves the purpose by automatically reducing the engine speed during Idling.

Salient Features:

  • System is designed with 16 bit microcontroller.
  • Monitors the speed and lube oil pressure of the loco
  • Storage capacity is more than 20 lacks to save minimum 6 months data of loco working condition.
  • It also provides the data regarding saving of fuel for any specific duration.
  • Facilitates data copy to secondary memory for analysing the loco idle & low idle conditions.
  • Logger software helps retrieve this savings information with date and time stamp.

Transition Regulator Panel (TRP)

Description:

Transition regulation panel is a closed loop feedback system. It is used to change the connectivity of traction motors in series and parallel combinational groups to maintain the loco speed at various working conditions.

Salient Features:

  • Easy configurable for 3 stage combinations of series and parallel groups.
  • Signal from Alternator is fed to Transition excitation transformer and then to TRP to initiate transition events.
  • Supports high torque at starting stage to work the traction motors in safe mode
  • Auto changeover for series and parallel combinational groups to maintain suitable speed at various loads.
  • TR panel consists of 4 electronic cards in one module.

Voltage Regulator Panel (VRP)

Description:

Voltage Regulator Panel is used in WDM & WDG Loco's to charge the Loco batteries. It is a voltage & current limiting panel for Auxiliary generator for use of Battery charging and to supply control power

Salient Features:

  • Over voltage and under voltage cut off to protect the battery from damages
  • Over current cut off to protect the battery from damages
  • It consists of two cards. BN card and BY card in one module.

Auto Creep Control System

Description:

It is a closed loop system and is used in WDM & WDG Loco's to facilitate the train to run at a set speed at various load condition to Load & Unload the material from wagons

Salient Features:

  • Auto Creep Control System facilitates loading and unloading items from moving vehicles at predefined speed.
  • It works on closed loop working principle
  • It controls the Locomotive Speed at set speed on various gradients
  • It displays the speed of Locomotive and its set speed

Transition Test kit

Description:

Transition test kit is used in Loco sheds to configure different settings of Transition Regulator Panel for WDM & WDG locos. It simulates axle alternator signal for calibrating speedometer and for setting transition events with best accuracy.

Salient Features:

  • Easy to configure various settings of Transition kit
  • Facilitates local LCD display to monitor settings
  • Measures axle Alternator speed with an accuracy of 0.1%.
  • Enables accurate adjustment of engine RPM by measuring Tacho generator frequency with an accuracy of 0.01% and resolution of 1 cycle.

Tachometer Frequency Indicator

Description:

It is used in WDM & WDG loco's to measure the RPM of tacho generator and alternator frequecny.

Salient Features:

  • Measures the engine speed and Tachogenerator frequency
  • Measures the Axle alternator frequency
  • Protected against reversal of input power supply. Can operate in any polarity that power source is connected by.

Auto emergency Breaking System (AEB)

Description:

Auto Emergency Breaking system is used in WDM & WDG loco's to apply automatic breaking when the train exceeds the preset speed limit under gradient circumstances to protect from the any accidents.

Salient Features:

  • Auto Emergency Breaking system facilitates to apply automatic breaking to the vehicle on crossing the predefined speed limits
  • Consists of a Control Unit and a Reset Unit.
  • It works on closed loop feedback principle
  • It facilitates different set speed limits through the Control Unit
  • It facilitates the Reset Unit to lock and unlock the speed limits through authenticated access

Engine Governor & Excitation Control System for DEMU/DETC Coaches

Description:

Engine Governor and Excitation Control System works on closed loop feedback mechanism for Diesel Electrical Multiple Units (DEMU's) of 700HP & 1400 HP. It controls the speed of the Loco by controlling fuel injection to governor, Alternator Voltage and Current .

Salient Features:

  • Monitor & Controls the speed of loco as per set notch.
  • Controls the engine RPM at 8 different speeds (Notches) and correspondingly develops 8 power levels.
  • Monitor & controls the Governor fuel injection
  • Monitor & control the Alternator voltage & currents to control the generated electric power.
  • The power, voltage limit and current limit for each notch can be preset over a range using multi-turn presets to match different capacities of engines and Alternators.

LED Flasher

Description:

LED flasher is a safety indicator device used in WDM & WDG loco's to enable the light flashes to attract the attention of opposite Loco Pilot in case of any abnormal situations like loco failure, track failure, signal failures or any other failures.

Salient Features:

  • Facilitate light flashes in case of Train parting condition
  • Gets the attention of other Loco Pilots when an abnormal situation arises.
  • Flashes@ 40 flashes per minute.
  • Visible at a distance of 2KM in daylight
